don3a02About the Author

Donald L. Angell was born and raised in western New York State and graduated from the Canisteo Central School in 1952. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ithaca College in 1956 and received a master’s degree in science from the University of Oregon in 1961. He attained his Ph.D. degree in counseling and clinical psychology from the University of Illinois in 1966.

Dr. Angell was involved in two national research projects in the field of rehabilitation while living in Chicago and served as an administrative head in the nation’s largest rehabilitation hospital and training facility in Johnstown, PA, prior to his beginning an eight year teaching career in the Department of Human Resources at the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania where he became an Associate Professor.

He left teaching in 1977 to begin what has become a twenty-seven year journey into private practice and clinical work in the Boston, MA area. He has served as consultant to the High Point Rehabilitation Programs in Plymouth, MA, the Pennsylvania State University and the University of Pittsburgh in Johnstown.

He is the father of three children and grandfather of six and practices psychology full time in the south shore region of Massachusetts. His favorite therapeutic interventions begin with, “Let me tell you a story.” In fact, his favorite image is being seen as a teller of stories. He has penned two novels thus far: WHERE SOMEBODY WAITS FOR ME and the as yet unpublished, MISSION AT STELLWAGEN.
